Dove Release.
Releasing doves at a funeral is a beautiful expression of peace and healing, symbolising a feeling of saying goodbye and letting go, whenever we have arranged the releasing of Doves, either by loved ones or by our handlers, there is always a sense of calmness and peace, and it has been described as a unique way to pay your final respects and say goodbye. Experience has also shown that releasing doves at the end of the church service provides a welcome respite if the family wish the actual burial to be a more private affair. In other instances family and loved ones may feel 'empty' on leaving the crematorium, by releasing a dove it can help them say goodbye to the departed.
1 Dove
At the end of the service a single white dove is released in memory of your loved one. During this quiet moment as the dove is released and soars into the sky there is a feeling of the lifting of the soul and the beginning of their journey into the heavens above. Those watching are able to emotionally ‘release’ their loved one, as the white dove flies off into the horizon.
2 Doves
The pairing of 2 doves is symbolic of the joining of 2 souls, and is a beautiful way to signify the departure of a second loved one (such as joining an already departed soul).
4 Doves
Three doves are released by hand or from a basket. These three doves represent the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Next a relative or close friend releases a single white dove, representing the loved ones spirit, the single dove can be released by hand or from a basket, as the three doves ascends into the sky, they circle on a high, awaiting the single one, symbolically the three doves escorts the spirit dove on a spiritual flight home.
6 Doves.
At the end of the service, family members release 5 doves by hand or from a basket, as the doves ascends into the sky and circles the area a single dove is released by a family member representing your loved ones spirit. When in flight this represents angles guiding the spirit dove to heaven.
